Speciality

Katrina M. Scaife MA, BA, R.Psych (AB), PCP (AB/BC)

Katrina Scaife spent her front-line career as a PCP in Alberta (2009-2019), working on-car while achieving both a BA and MA in Psychology. Her additional endeavours in her PCP role included CISM & Peer Support, Bike Squad, Ethics Committee, and membership on the provincial Psychological Health & Safety Committee. After registering as a Psychologist, she went on to hold the provincial portfolio of EMS Psychologist with Alberta Health Services, where she contributed to organizational strategies to improve Paramedic and Dispatcher mental  ellness.
She was subsequently recruited by BC’s Provincial Health Services Authority as a Mental Health Specialist to help address factors contributing to medical leaves related to OSIs and mental illness and to offer specialized support to Paramedics, Call-Takers, and Dispatchers who require medical leaves.
Katrina’s clinical practice focuses on supporting those who have experienced trauma; her small private practice provides counselling and organizational consultation and training. She has a passion for the big picture of mental wellness and helping professionals and organizations to set the scene for improved health. Her obsessions with animals, food, and mountains balance out a life that is admittedly, too ADVENTUROUS (her preferred reframe of busy).
