Dr Polly Ford-Jones
Dr. Ford-Jones is an assistant professor in Public Health at the University of Lethbridge, an Adjunct Professor in the University of Toronto Department of Family and Community Medicine (DFCM), part of the Paramedicine Collaborative at DFCM, and a Scientist with the McNally Project for Paramedicine Research. She is a social scientist and interdisciplinary health services researcher and holds a PhD in Health Policy and Equity from York University. Her program of research explores emergency mental health needs in the community, including response to acute crisis, follow-up, and supportive prevention. This program of research is rooted in critical, qualitative methodologies, and engages with issues of health equity and the social determinants of health. Her experience as a health service provider comes from her work as a primary care paramedic in southern Ontario.
