Dr Polly Ford-Jones
Dr. Ford-Jones is a professor in Allied Health in the Faculty of Health & Life Sciences at the Humber Polytechnic, an Adjunct Professor in the University of Toronto Department of Family and Community Medicine (DFCM), part of the Paramedicine Collaborative at DFCM, and a Scientist with the McNally Project for Paramedicine Research. She is a social scientist and interdisciplinary health services researcher and holds a PhD in Health Policy and Equity from York University. Her program of research explores emergency mental health needs in the community, including response to acute crisis, follow-up, and supportive prevention. This program of research is rooted in critical, qualitative methodologies, and engages with issues of health equity and the social determinants of health. Her experience as a health service provider comes from her work as a primary care paramedic in southern Ontario.
